Foreword
Every generation has watched something it once believed was indispensable slowly disappear. Typewriters made way for computers. Film gave way to digital. Phone books vanished from our homes. Maps folded into our pockets. Skills that once defined entire careers quietly became memories.
The world has always moved forward. It always will.
But every time it does, someone is left standing on the other side, wondering where they belong now.
Better Than Humans is about those people.
Prakash and Vishwa have spent over twenty years turning strangers into family, the two best life insurance salesmen the city has ever produced. On the same morning they close the biggest sale of their careers, they walk back into an office that no longer has a desk for them. The entire sales department, a team of forty people, has been replaced by an AI trained on years of exactly the kind of relationship building work they gave their lives to.
Weeks of rejection follow. Every recruiter wants coding, automation, systems, the very things that made them obsolete. At his lowest, Prakash falls asleep at his desk. His daughter finds the job listings open on his screen, and, half out of mischief and half out of love, submits an application for both of them to Vyoma Labs. The same company that ended their careers.
They can't code. They can't automate. What they can do is make a stranger feel like the only person in the room, and it is enough to get them into the internship, over the objections of almost everyone in the room, because one young manager, Ram, refuses to let the decision be made by a resume alone.
Twenty somethings, PhDs, prodigies, but nobody wants two forty year olds on their team. Prakash and Vishwa are handed the five interns nobody else picked: Ananya, Arjun, Raghav, Kamal, Mayuri. Seven outcasts, thrown together by elimination, not choice.
What starts as the office joke becomes the thing nobody at Vyoma Labs can stop watching: a team that keeps winning the challenges no algorithm was built to solve, because two men who never learned to code have spent two decades learning something no machine ever will.
They weren't fighting the future.
They were fighting the idea that they no longer belonged.
When the writer first started thinking about Artificial Intelligence, everyone around him was asking the same question: will AI replace us? He wasn't interested in that question. He became interested in something else: what happens to the people who are replaced? Not financially. Emotionally. What happens to a man's confidence, his identity, his family, his purpose, the morning he wakes up and discovers the world no longer needs the skill he spent twenty years becoming excellent at?
Every generation has had to make peace with becoming irrelevant: the arrival of computers, the internet, and now Artificial Intelligence. This is not an anti AI story. AI is not the villain. Neither is youth. Neither is ambition. Nobody in Vyoma Labs wakes up trying to hurt anyone else; everyone is simply trying to survive the world they've inherited. The audience should never feel manipulated into crying. The emotion should come from recognising themselves in these people.
Hope.Not because AI lost. Not because the heroes won. If it makes you pause before you dismiss, or wait before you judge, then the series has done its job.

One of India's leading Artificial Intelligence companies, a place where ideas move quickly, innovation is constant, and excellence is expected. For its employees, it represents opportunity. For the interns, it represents possibility. For Prakash and Vishwa, it represents a world that has already moved on without them.
Vyoma Labs should feel like tomorrow. The people inside it should remind us of yesterday. The world should constantly remind us that technology is advancing faster than people are changing. Inside its walls, age and experience carry little weight unless they can create value; the internship becomes a meeting point between two generations, two perspectives, two definitions of intelligence.
Vyoma Labs is not the hero of this story. It is the world that brings its heroes together.
05. The Heart
Technology has always evolved faster than people. Every generation has watched the world move on without them. New inventions replace old ones. Entire professions disappear. Skills that once defined a lifetime quietly become obsolete. Progress has never waited for anyone.
Better Than Humans is not about stopping that change. Change is inevitable. It is about refusing to believe that change decides your worth.
The world may tell you that you are no longer needed. It may replace what you do. But it can never decide who you are. That decision has always belonged to you.
In the end, this is not the story of two men trying to defeat the future. It is the story of two men brave enough to find their place in it.
Better Than Humans is a 20 episode character driven drama, written in English and built to adapt across languages while retaining its emotional core. It blends corporate drama, coming of age storytelling and slice of life realism, with technology as backdrop, human relationships as the engine.
Every episode is a task inside Vyoma Labs. But the true progression is internal: small victories build confidence, failures reveal vulnerability, relationships deepen. Across the season:

Prakash and Vishwa close the biggest sale of their careers, and walk back into an office to find the entire sales department replaced by an AI trained on their own work.
A daughter's click, a father's second chance.
Weeks of rejection reveal a world with no place for what they know, until Prakash's daughter quietly applies for both of them to Vyoma Labs.
Selling themselves to the company that replaced them.
Vyoma Labs calls them in for an internship interview. What they lack in technical skill, they make up for in something the interviewers weren't screening for.
Nobody wants two forty year olds on their team.
Passed over by every intern in the room, Prakash and Vishwa are handed the five people nobody else picked.
If there's a bug, someone must have put it there.
While their teammates fight over code, Prakash and Vishwa go looking for a human suspect in a problem that isn't human at all, and lose spectacularly.
Whatever they build, they build together, or not at all.
Ranked dead last, the leftover team is told: from here forward, they succeed as one department, or they don't succeed at all.
The questions are AI. The people who wrote them aren't.
Vishwa realises the puzzle was built by a human, and the team claws back into contention by reading people, not code.
The first sunrise none of them saw on a screen.
A wild, unplugged night out becomes the birth of an idea, and the first time seven strangers feel like a team.
The app that made people feel human again.
Their sleep deprived app becomes the highest rated launch on campus, a win that costs someone else everything.
No app can replace what he's lived through.
Assigned the most volatile client on campus (a war veteran who refuses to be counselled by a machine), the team stumbles onto the one idea the whole company missed.
Confessions come easier after midnight.
Old walls come down as Ananya, Arjun, Mayuri, Kamal and Raghav each finally say what they've been carrying alone.
Abhishek did his homework on Prakash.
Rattled by a rival's cruelty and his crumbling marriage, Prakash starts to unravel, until an unlikely ally shows up after hours.
One mistake. One team. One resignation.
A small oversight costs the whole team the round, and Prakash quits before anyone can stop him.
Two wins won't save them now.
With Prakash gone and the leaderboard tightening, the team searches for him and for Raghav, who has vanished.
It hurts, doesn't it? Guess what: it hurts him more.
Prakash finds Raghav, and confronts the one relationship no task at Vyoma Labs could ever fix.
The papers are already on the table.
Prakash refuses to let his marriage be decided by everyone except his wife, the same week the final two tasks are set in motion.
Four words. A lifetime late.
At his father's bedside, Vishwa finally hears the words he spent his whole life waiting for.
What if the app was just about being human?
Mayuri finally speaks, pitching the idea that reframes everything the team has learned.
One idea. One shot. One event.
The team builds Mayuri's vision into something real, live in front of everyone who ever doubted them.
Who wins was never really the question.
